What Acupuncture Treats

The diversity and breadth of conditions that Acupuncture can treat is vast. Many people think of Acupuncture as only used for pain or smoking cessation. What is generally not known is that Acupuncture can be very effective for internal organ problems like:

Respiratory Problems

Respiratory issues such as asthma, allergies, shallow breathing, sinus problems, frequent colds and bronchitis.

Digestive Disorders

Digestive issues such as nausea, heartburn, GERD, poor digestion, constipation, diarrhea, and irritable bowel.

Female Reproductive System Disorders

Reproductive issues such as PMS, cramping, fertility, hot flashes, irregular menstruation.

All types of pain

Neck and Back, Shoulder, Joint. Tendonitis, Frozen Shoulder, Muscle Pain, Muscle Spasms and Knots, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Hand and Foot Pain, Knee Pain, Sciatica, Neuropathy, Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sports Injuries.

Treatment of Stress

Few people realize how effective Acupuncture can be to relieve stress in all its manifestations, both emotional and physical. A good portion of my practice are people with high levels of stress. They might not be interested in medication and are looking for an effective, safe alternative. Acupuncture helps balance the emotional response to stress and can be fine tuned to an individuals particular response such as irritability or anxiety. Physical responses to stress such as neck and shoulder tension, digestive symptoms or headaches are also relieved. People report feeling more like themselves again and back in balance even though the external stressers are still present.

Other conditions that respond to Acupuncture include Urinary Incontinence, Impotence, Prostatitis, Gallbladder and Liver problems, Headaches of all kinds including Migraines and Cluster Headaches, Vertigo, Tinnitus, Conjunctivitis, Anemia and other blood disorders, Immune Disorders including low immunity, auto-immune disorders, side effects from Chemo and Radiation Therapy, Fatigue, Stress related conditions.

It is also beneficial as an adjunct for Depression, Anxiety and Psychospiritual Issues

Initial Consultation

In the Initial Visit and Treatment, a Health History Questionnaire is filled out. This includes all past illnesses and symptoms as well as current. An evaluation of current Vitamins, Herbs, Supplements, Diet and Lifestyle recommendations is given. The Pulse and Tongue are read which is an important aspect of Chinese Diagnosis.

What You Can Expect

Results can often be seen with one treatment but three or more treatments are advised to determine the effectiveness. Any changes within 1 to 3 days after a treatment can be directly attributed to Acupuncture provided there have been no other types of treatment.

“Improvement Beyond Expectation”

by EIS722 at Citysearch

I cannot recommend Christopher Hudson enough. I first visited him seeking relief from chronic back, neck and shoulder pain after physical therapy and medication had offered limited results. While I was optimistic, I was not prepared for the significant improvement I saw in all aspects of my health after just a few treatments.

While it was my intolerable back/neck pain that motivated me to seek Christopher's help, I suffer from a variety of chronic conditions, including migraines, irritable bowel syndrome, narcolepsy, overactive bladder, interstitial cystitis, ADHD, allergies, asthma, and anxiety.

“As a Doctor, I highly recommend Chris as an acupuncturist.”

by EID at Google Reviews

I suffered a long hospitalization/ICU stay, and developed a peripheral neuropathy from my illness -- I went to Chris to try to help heal it. I wasn't sure if acupuncture was going to work for me, but I was willing to try it since my sister-in-law really liked it, and because I figured that it couldn't hurt. But more than not hurting, I believe that it's truly helped me. I think it has increased my energy level substantially, as well as improving my mood. I believe that it's helped me return to my work as a resident. I also think that it has aided in my nerve recovery, as I am gaining back sensation/motor function more quickly than I was expecting. I really appreciated that Chris took a long time to understand all of my medical problems during my first visit, as well as all during all subsequent visits. I felt that he was very honest about what he felt he could help me with, and he taught me more about acupuncture during subsequent visits, and I now believe that acupuncture has been a helpful adjunctive therapy during my recovery.
